JULIE TAYMOR | TOUCHSTONE PICTURES
MAIN TITLE | VFX
Prologue directed the second unit camera on location in Hawaii and created all the visual effects including the metamorphosis of the character of Ariel, ranging from a black-winged harpie, to a fluid humanoid shape made from swarming bees, to elemental distortions incorporating light, water and fire. Each scene brings something new, from quiet, poetic moments to a cacophony of relentless action, to comic relief, to subtle alterations in the environment. For the end titles, Prologue directed an underwater shoot, filming Prospera’s books, thrown into the ocean and slowly sinking down into a dark, watery void.
