Ben Stiller charged Prologue with creating a poetic, fanciful main title sequence, as well as an end credit sequence involving numerous photographic images reprising Walter Mitty’s adventure and the spiritual journey his character undertook. Prologue used the opening title sequence to create a contrast between Walter Mitty’s dull life and the adventure he’d soon set out on. The titles begin surreptitiously finding their way into the architecture of Walter’s commute. However, once the title “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” is introduced, the frame is filled with lush colors, foreshadowing the bombastic future that awaits him. Including Walter’s trip to the Himalayas, for which Prologue animated the sketchbook language used within that sequence.
