Prologue created the logo animation sequence for Sony Digital Cinema 4K, a branch of Sony specializing in cinema display technology. Most digital cinema projectors are only 2K, about 2000 pixels across. Sony 4K is dramatically different in that its advanced SXRD microdisplay chip uses reflective liquid crystal technology to create over 4000 pixels horizontally. Prologue looked to personify these unique aspects of their technology in our design. The sequence starts with a group of multi-colored crystals being swept in as if by a gust of wind. The crystals then come together to to form the typography spelling out the company name. When the name is fully formed, it gives a slight bounce, forcing an effect of rippling water beneath it.
