MAIN TITLE

For this Emmy Award-nominated title sequence, Prologue looked to the legendary works of Paul Rand – one of America’s first commercial artists to embrace the innovative “Swiss Style” of graphic design. Prologue utilized Rand’s asymmetric, high-contrast modernism to create striking frames, as well as Saul Bass-esque cut-outs and spiralling imagery reminiscent of Vertigo, North By Northwest, and Psycho. The tone Prologue created is simultaneously period-specific and contemporary, conjuring dual iconography of stars Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) during their controversial collaboration on Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?.
