For Destiny’s The Taken King opening cinematic, Bungie wanted to establish the scale and darkness ability of the antagonist Oryx. Prologue created a sense of scale by starting the sequence on a small satellite, then gradually introducing larger objects that ended on Oryx’s gargantuan ship. The design of Oryx was based on low-res models provided by Bungie, but details such as the red moth wings were created by Prologue. The darkness ability of Oryx is prominently shown in the sequence, but it’s also referenced in the outro of the piece, when Oryx’s ship eclipses the sun, enveloping the scene in literal darkness before finally flashing the screen to the game’s logo.
