Prologue was approached to conceive and direct a live-action logo sequence for Black Bear Pictures, the production company behind such releases as The Imitation Game and Broken City. Following a concept development and pre-production phase, we shot live-action green screen footage of a real bear. We digitally added the bear onto a New York City street and pulled the camera back through a window to reveal a little boy whom we filmed separately. The final piece creates the illusion of the boy staring in awe at the bear through his window. We then transition into the Black Bear logo. The effect we set out to achieve was one in which the viewer associates the magical appearance of the bear in an unexpected environment with the power of Black Bear Pictures to spark the imagination and surprise us.
