Prologue conducted extensive research to reinforce the film’s commitment to authenticity by presenting an end title sequence that uses historical footage and old photographs of the real Whitey Bulger. Prologue continues the theme of duality in the main title animation by accentuating the letter A in “Black” and “Mass.” Each letter represents one of the Bulger brothers as they drift away from each other, as one becomes a state senator, the other a notorious criminal, and the alliance between the FBI and organized crime unravels.
